Overview

There is a variety of providers you can use for SAML authentication. This page provides details on how to configure Google as your SAML provider.

Configuration

To configure Google as your SAML provider, follow the steps below.

  1. In your Organization’s profile page, click Edit to edit the Organization’s profile and select the SAML Authentication tab.

  2. Check the Enable SAML Authentication checkbox.

  3. Go to the Google Apps Admin Console and select Apps.

  4. Select SAML Apps and then click the + sign in the bottom right corner to add a new SAML App.

  5. Click SETUP MY OWN CUSTOM APP

  6. Copy the value of the SSO URL field from the Google Idp Information …​

    …​and paste it into the SAML Login URL field in the SAML Authentication Configuration tab in your Organization’s Edit Organization page.

  7. In your Organization’s SAML Authentication Configuration tab, set the SAML Service Provider Name field to any unique URI. A good example would be "https://bintray.com/<your_organization_name>".

  8. Download the certificate from Google Apps and save it to a known location on your computer.

  9. Open the certificate file you just downloaded using any text editor, copy its contents, and paste them into the SAML Certificate field.

  10. In the Google Admin Console, click Next.

  11. Enter an application name that is unique in your organization’s Google console. For example "Bintray SAML". Click Next to continue.

  12. Copy the SAML ACS URL field from SAML Authentication Configuration tab…​

    …​and paste it into the ACS URL field in the Google Admin Console.

  13. Copy the SAML Service Provider Name field from SAML Authentication Configuration tab…​

    …​and paste it into the Entity ID field in the Google Admin Console.

  14. Click Next and Finish

  15. On the Google Admin Console, enable the app for all users by selecting ON for everyone.
